How To Go To LEGOLAND Malaysia From Singapore

The ideal routes to one, LEGOLAND Malaysia often causes doubts, debates or confusions among our beloved travelers especially from Singapore. It’s not that this is a stressful encounter but more of the lack of experience associated among rookie tourists or enthusiast out there. LEGOLAND is roughly 45 km from Singapore or so they say. So, how to get there?

Cost: A road charge of RM20 plus ¾ of petrol tank cost as part of the guidelines to enter Malaysia.

#1 Personal Car

A) Tuas Checkpoint

B) Woodlands Checkpoint

Time: Estimated time of 45 minutes to an hour [depending on traffic]

  • Troublesome to look for parking spaces along the way for toilet breaks or for a quick bite

  • Use a Touch N Go at the toll station as everything is cashless and that means Singaporeans are to purchase a Touch N Go card and top it up to SGD 20.

#2 Public Bus

Cost: A rough price range of SGD 10 – SGD 15 for a one way ticket.

The Routes:

Option 1: Jurong East Bus Exchange:

  • From Jurong East Bus Exchange, take the Causeway Link Bus CW3 (SGD$4) facing the Tuas Checkpoint that guides you through the Singapore and Malaysia Immigration checkpoints towards the CIQ Interlink.
 Causeway Link Bus CW3 Schedule:

Monday to Friday: 7:10am – 11:45pm (bus arrives within 10-30 minutes)

Saturday to Sunday: 7:30am – 11:45pm (bus arrives within 10-30 minutes)

  • Upon reaching the CIQ Interlink in Malaysia, get onto buses JPO2 (RM6) or SL1 (RM2) that directly takes you to LEGOLAND Malaysia!
 Causeway Link Bus JPO2 Schedule:                          Monday to Friday: 8:30am, 11:30am, 2:30pm & 5:30pm (bus goes by every 3 hours)

Causeway Link Bus SL1 Schedule:

Saturday, Sunday & Singapore Public Holidays: 9:00am – 7:30pm (bus moves every 90 minutes)

Time: An average time of 40 minutes is expected.

Option 2: Boon Lay:       

At Boon Lay, you may take the Causeway Link Bus CW6 [SGD 4] at the Tuas Checkpoint to reach the CIQ Interlink in Malaysia. Then, you are to take either Buses JPO2 or SL1 to Legoland Malaysia.

 Causeway Link Bus CW6 Schedule:Monday to Friday: 7:35am – 10:45pm (bus departs every 10-25 minutes)

Saturday to Sunday & Public Holiday: 7:30am – 10:40pm (bus departs every 15-20 minutes)

  • At Boon Lay, you may take the Causeway Link Bus CW6 [SGD 4] at the Tuas Checkpoint to reach the CIQ Interlink in Malaysia. Then, you are to take either Buses JPO2 or SL1 to Legoland Malaysia.

Option 3: JB Sentral:       

  • You can also go to JB Sentral to buy a ticket for Causeway Link Bus LM1 [SGD 2.11] to head to Legoland.
 Causeway Link Bus LM1 Schedule:Monday to Thursday: 8:00am – 6.30pm. (bus departs every 90 minutes)

Friday to Sunday & Singapore Public Holidays: 8:00am – 7.00pm (bus departs every 1 hour)

Cons: 

  • 2 hours plus considering the immigration checks for buses equals to longer time taken.
  • Risk of taking the wrong buses.
  • Travelling with strangers that might not be ideal for families.

  • May be tired due to transits and waiting periods.

Tip:

  • Suited for single travelers instead of families.
  • Bus tickets to be kept safely just in case.
  • To be sure of current traveled routes to avoid getting lost.

Guideline:

Step 1: Take Bus 856 at the bus stop nearby Marsiling MRT Station

Step 2: Bus 856 will arrive at Woodlands Centre Road

Step 3: Get to Woodlands Train Checkpoint nearby to purchase train tickets. You will be engaging in your immigration checks all at once.

Step 4: Wait at the right waiting area before boarding the train that takes you to JB Sentral.

Step 5: From JB Sentral, you are to board Bus LM1 to Legoland Malaysia. You can also approach a local cab to Legoland Malaysia.

Time: This may take almost half a day.
