LEGOLAND MALAYSIA, HELLO KITTY LAND, JOHOR PREMIUM OUTLET

Whether it is for the holidays or a vacation, Johor is an excellent choice for a short getaway! Popular tourist spots in Johor include Legoland, Hello Kitty Land, Johor Premium Outlet, Johor Bahru town and Desaru Beach resorts.

Legoland Malaysia ThemeparkSanrio 2JPO8

Unless one drives, taking public transport to popular Johor tourist attractions could be a daunting process with almost no direct connection. Passengers must be prepared to hop on and off several buses under the sweltering heat and humid of tropical weather.

The biggest hurdle of travelling to Johor however is passengers boarding buses and vans (regardless of public or private) as required by law to disembark at Singapore and Malaysian Customs and Immigration with their luggage in tow for custom clearance and immigration. Situation could get more unpleasant during peak hours due to thousands of Malaysian shuttling daily to Singapore to work or study. Buses are often packed and the movement of traffic is slow during peak hours.

My Visit to Hello Kitty Land: A Day Full of Joy and Wonder

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been an ardent Hello Kitty fan. This little mouthless cat has charmed my heart from when I was a little girl, so it’s not surprising that MY own daughter is as much of a fan as I am. Two years ago, when I first heard that Sanrio Hello Kitty Land will be built in our very own Johor Bahru, I was overjoyed.

Fast forward to early 2013, and I finally had the opportunity to visit this lovely indoor theme park. My husband wasn’t too keen on visiting Hello Kitty Land, but we compromised and ended up going to Singapore to see a friend. There, I met up with my BFF, Sandy, and her daughter.

Image

Armed with cash (for buying Hello Kitty souvenirs, what else?) and my trusty camera, me and the other “girls” disembarked from our transport and arrived at the Puteri Harbour Family Theme Park complex. We glimpsed one of the best sights I’ve seen all year – the beautiful and amazingly inviting entrance to Hello Kitty Land!

Clutching each other, me and my BFF went mad with excitement. Our kids looked pretty happy too, and the girls dragged us to the stage area where we saw the first Hello Kitty show of the day. The performance appealed to the kids and adult fans alike, and I was quite impressed with the costumes and showmanship.

 Image

Next, we took our time and strolled through the entire theme park, which by the way is fully indoors. I do so hope they would build an outdoor addition to Hello Kitty Land. Imagine the many rides I could enjoy there! My prayers were somewhat answered when we stumbled upon the Hello Kitty teacup ride. This charming amusement feature made my day. My daughter and I shared a tiny little teacup (it was a wonder I was able to squeeze into it!) and went around THRICE. Talk about being a die-hard fan!

I was overjoyed to discover studios offering Hello Kitty activities. You’ll find them strewn around the level where you can participate in jewelry making, cookie baking, nail painting and even a place where you’ll be made up like Hello Kitty! We were especially enamored with the Hello Kitty cookie studio where a staff handed out butter cookies shaped like Hello Kitty so that we may decorate it with chocolate sauce and strawberry syrup. Oh, what joy!

One of our final stops was at the Hello Kitty House. This life-sized structure housed everything and anything Hello Kitty! I was ready to swoon as I looked at the beautifully whimsical furniture, cutleries and even kitchen appliances. Sigh, if only I lived here!

Image

We ended our visit at the Red Bow Café, but not before splashing our money and credit cards on souvenirs fond at the Sanrio Shop. This was the one time I didn’t mind splurging so much, and my daughter made sure she took advantage of that.

All in all, we had a wonderful time at Hello Kitty Land. My BFF went back to Singapore while my daughter and I stayed a little longer in Johor to await my husband’s arrival. Judging from the numerous bags we carted home, I could tell he was glad to be back sooner; otherwise I would’ve spent all our money on Hello Kitty products, hehe.

Tour to Legoland Malaysia Resort

If you are planning a family get-away in Johor, a tour to Legoland Malaysia Resort should be on top of your list!

What You Shouldn’t Miss inLegoland

The popularity of LEGO transcends generations. While LEGO’s main targets for its toys are children aged five to twelve, both kids and kids at heart have fond memories of building using blocks.

1

A Complete LEGO Experience

Legoland Malaysia brings a complete, interactive experience that has always been LEGO’s signature. The 5,500,000 sq ft. resort features over 70 hands-on rides, shows, slides and attractions where you can program, push, pedal and of course, build to your heart’s content.

Below are some of the things that you can do to make your LEGO experience complete.

To Explore

2

At the heart of Legoland Malaysia lies MINILAND where you can find famous landmarks carefully built with more than 30 million LEGO bricks. With a scale of 1:20, popular buildings such as Angkor Wat, TajMahal, KL Petronas Tower and Singapore’s own downtown Merlion Park are carefully replicated. There is also a miniature Singapore scene that features the Singapore Flyer and the Marina Bay skyline. Get your cameras ready: you should also watch out for motorized LEGO cars, ships, trains and airplanes that come to life with a push of a button. Make sure that you zoom your cameras to capture the scene as they happen!

To Conquer

3

Feel the rush of adrenaline as you ride The Dragon which is one of the famous roller coasters in the nearby area. Rated by most to bring 5 out of 10 screams, this ride will take you deep inside a castle on a fire-breathing dragon. The track swerves sharply to the left and to the right at near-vertical angles and with a top speed of 60km/hr, making you feel as if you are being tipped out.

If you feel more daring, ride Project X at your own risk. With its 15 corners and steep switchback track, this ride has more twists and hairpin turns than other rides at the park. Only 4 four people are allowed to ride in a car which will take you 18 meters above the ground. At the start of the ride, your cart will fly down the slope which is guaranteed to produce screams from the riders. Most give this ride 7 out of 10 screams.

Parents and children who are looking for a milder yet challenging ride may take on Merlin’s Challenge, a high-speed carousel that puts 48 visitors at a time for a spin. This charming ride offers ample shelter from the sun with its small and colorful cars or carriages that go round a circle and up and down in a wave-like motion. Challenge: Dare yourself to survive past the 15th round.

To Build

4

Of all the things LEGO is known for, building is on the top of the list. It’s no surprise then that LEGO has specific areas where both young and old can build anything from robots to race cars. For example, Build-A-Raft lets you design, customize and build your own unique LEGO raft and set it afloat around a river. Model builders can also turn their creative designs into reality through the LEGO Academy. Finally, test the durability of your structure in the earthquake table.

To Shop

5

Aside from pictures of you and the LEGO version of a colossal stature of Egyptian pharaoh Ramses II and other gigantic structures, you can take home fun and rare memorabilia of a wonderful day by shopping at The Big Shop. Well-suited for its name, The Big Shop is the largest LEGO superstore in Southeast Asia- making it one of your places you must visit in Legoland. The famous store has over 2,000 products from brick sets to souvenirs and guidebooks on building magnanimous and complex structures. Although the prices might make you cringe, the shop has some rare pieces that you can seldom find in other LEGO stores.

To Create Memories

More importantly, just have fun. Legoland is a place of fun, innovation and interaction. Go ahead and dare yourself to try the rides or chill out and watch their spectacular fireworks at night. With lots of activities for the family, Legoland will make your trip worthwhile.

Legoland is located within the Iskandar Malaysia economic region where surrounding retail centers, four-star hotels and apartments thrive. One final tip: To avoid the stress and hassle of commute and traffic, it is recommended that you book a private transport from Singapore to Legoland Malaysia.

Overcoming the Increase in Toll Rates across the Johor-Singapore Causeway

$
0
0

With the new toll rates charged on Malaysia and Singapore vehicles crossing the Johor-Singapore causeway from 1st August 2014, more people are paying for higher travel fees, whether for work or leisure purposes. The popular Singapore to Legoland transportation is not spared either. The toll furore began after the Singapore government decided to increase the levy on all foreign-registered vehicles entering the country starting from 1stAugust onwards, which eventually led Malaysia to increase its toll charges on the interlink causeway.

For now, 13th August 2014 – The cars tolls payable are RM16.50 (Malaysian end) and SGD1.20 (Singapore end) for a round trip which is an increase of SGD6.40. On top of that, Malaysian cars need to pay a daily vehicle entry permit of SGD35.

In a couple of weeks, some estimated 1st September 2014 – Singapore shall increase its tolls to SGD6.40 to match the toll amount in Malaysia. Malaysian cars are expected to pay a total of SGD47.80 for a round trip inclusive of foreign vehicle entry levy. This is a hefty sumto pay just to drive across to a neighbouring country!

Impact to Professionals and Workers

The new toll rates would of course affect mainly Malaysian professionals and workers working in Singapore as well as international and Singapore tourists who often travel to Johor Bahru over the weekend. With the new rates effective, public transportations will have to increase ticket prices, companies will have to pay more salaries to their employees, and tourists will have more reasons to consider before travelling across the border. The increase of salaries is a burden for SMEs especially. In fact, some Malaysian employees may have to quit their job in Singapore due to the higher cost of transport and choose to work Johor Bahru.

For Singapore, this will increase its business costs as someof the local companies are dependent on Malaysian workers who cross the border every day. Transportation service providers will have to bear with the raise of the Malaysian toll fees that were increased for taxis, buses, and trucks, with a SGD35 entry permit for all foreign-registered cars.

toll-charges

The consequences are expected to affect food prices too as Singapore is importing 5-10% of its essential foods from Malaysia. In this case of tit for tat, it is the people across both side of causeway who will eventually suffer as they bear the brunt of the spiralling cost.

Dining Hot Spots in Johor, Malaysia

After a long journey of travelling from wherever you may be coming from, a bottle of cold water is the answer to quenching your thirst while a plate of delicious dish helps re-energise your body. The state of Johor is another great dining hot spot, other than some of Malaysia’s popular dining places such as Malacca, Penang, and Kuala Lumpur. There are some dining hot spots in Johor that I will highlight on this blog. I am a foodie myself. Hence, providing you with dining tips is something that I enjoy. Check out some of the best dining hot spots which I have listed below.

  1. Village Briyani Café (Indian cuisines)

Village Briyani Pic1

Located in Johor Bahru, this air-conditioned restaurant serves its customers with spicy and mouth-watering mutton and Chicken Briyani. This restaurant only serves Halal dishes; no beef and pork served. It is open for both lunch and dinner. Although the prices are slightly more expensive than the other restaurants available around, the restaurant carries a good reputation for offering fast and efficient service as well as very tasty dishes. It is clear that the restaurant has done a pretty good job at keeping their customers happy. A restaurant that fulfils your needs as a customer is definitely worth paying for after all.

Address: 15 Susur 1/1, Jalan Tun Abdul Razak, Johor Bahru, Malaysia

  1. Qing Palace Chinese Restaurant (Szechuan Cuisines)

Qing palace pic2

If you are looking for something oriental, perhaps this restaurant is for you. Whether or not you are a Chinese, this restaurant simply knows how to win your heart with their good foods. Operates 7 days a week, this dining hot spot is well-known for its stunningly prepared Szechuan Hot and Sour Soup, Camphor and Tea Smoke Duck, and ‘Muaji’, which literally means peanut balls. With all the good reviews thrown on them on Trip Advisor, how can we deny its credibility as a good restaurant? To prove this, Qing Palace was voted as one of the best restaurants in Malaysia by Malaysian Tatler for unsurprisingly 15 consecutive years.

Address: 20km, Jalan Pontian Lama, Pulai Springs Resort, Johor Bahru 81110, Malaysia

  1. Passion Food Café and Bakery (French cuisines)

Passion food pic 3

Founded by Chi Ling, a medical bioscience professional who finds passion in baking and cooking, this is a highly recommended dining hot spot for those of you who are into sweet things that melt in your mouth. Forget about coffee houses for awhile and jump right in into this comfortable café and bakery. Not only does it provide great ambience and friendly service, this F&B player is also an expert in impressing its customers with tempting desserts sold at reasonable prices. This is the kind of place I would spend my afternoon on book reading. The best part about this place is that I can easily grab something for breakfast, such as cupcakes and macaroons.

Address: 14 Jalan Perang, Taman Pelangi, 80400 Johor Bahru, Johor, Malaysia

  1. Nijyumaru Japanese Restaurant (Japanese cuisines)

Nijyumaru Japanese Restaurant pic4

Japanese cuisines are just so popular in Malaysia, and the numbers of Japanese restaurants are continuously increasing. One of my recommendations would be Nijyumaru Japanese Restaurant, a Japanese restaurant located in Skudai. The restaurant has received positive feedback from satisfied customers, which then led them to achieving the Certificate of Excellence 2014 from tripadvisor.com. Customers can simply make bookings especially when entering in groups, organise parties, request for table service, and takeaway. Apart from all these convenient services, this hot spot is also great for children. Due to its excellent service, the restaurant has managed to gain more popularity, resulting to crowdedness during peak hours (lunch and dinner). If you are planning to come in a big group, be sure to make prior reservation. Perhaps the restaurant should expand its size in order to keep up with the rising demands.

Address: No. 24, Jalan Permas 10/5, Bandar Baru Permas Jaya, Johor Bahru, Malaysia

  1. Arabian Nights (Middle-eastern cuisines)

Arabian Nights pic5

Although the restaurant is still on its way to achieving an award for the excellence of its dining service, the feedback given by its customers on tripadvisor.com are all positive so far. This hidden gem probably needs more exposure due to its location. Regardless of its less strategic location, this dining hot spot is still one of my favourites, thanks to its good foods and excellent service. Arab hospitality is definitely one of the best –they tend to over feed you, which is pretty good in a way that you’ll always feel satisfied for the amount of money you pay. In term of interior design, its surroundings are pleasant to the eye and worth telling about. There is another add to its middle-eastern menu –they also serve Pakistani dishes! Need delivery? The restaurant has its delivery supported by Food Panda, one of the country’s leading delivery service.

Humble Life in Kukup Fishing Village, Johor

$

If you had been to Pulau Ketam in Port Klang, Malaysia, Johor’s Kukup fishing village would probably catch your attention, especially if you need to escape the hustle and bustle of major cities. Due to its short distance to Malaysia’s neighbouring country, Kukup fishing village makes a great gateway for Singaporeans and fellow Malaysians working in Singapore. The small village is easily accessible –it is just 100 km away from Singapore city centre and 70 km away from Johor Bahru, Malaysia. Similar to Pulau Ketam, Kukup fishing village is well-known for its delicious choices of seafood and floating houses. Its signature dish is its chilli crab dish. Feeling hungry already? Come over and order yourself a plate!

Most tourists who visit Kukup are Malaysians and Singaporeans, and they would normally spend at least a night here where they explore the village before filling up their stomach with what the village has to offer. For those of you who are into water activities, we recommend the Kukup boat service that will take you for a visit to the village’s aquaculture farms –this is where you’ll get to witness how crabs and different kinds of fishes are commercially bred.

Whether you want to spend a night at the village or not, it is entirely up to you. You can explore the whole village in just a day, but it is advisable for you to arrive in the morning so you’ll get to spend more time here. If you choose to stay overnight, below are some nearby resorts to choose from:

(i)                 Chalet Hao Lai

This fully furnished chalet offers 5 rooms and can cater to up to 37 pax. Its customer service is fairly good and guests will also be rest assured that they will not have to share with others during their stay in the chalet. Here guests get to enjoy computerized karaoke system, play Mahjong, sleep in air-conditioned room, and served with free flow soft drinks. Optionally, guests can also request for a rod and bait in case they want to go fishing. With its windy balcony, guests have more reasons to enjoy Kukup’s beautiful sea scenery.

(ii)               Chalet Keng

A fully furnished chalet which offers 3 rooms that can cater to up to 20 pax. Guests will be impressed by its excellent service and also be rest assured that they will not have to share with others during their stay in the chalet. Despite its half-wooden and half-brick style, the chalet is spacious, clean and tidy.

(iii)             Chalet Cai Hong

With 4 rooms that can accommodate 30+ pax, this chalet is suitable for guests who check-in in big groups. It also has an air-conditioned KTV room where guests can spend time singing together or play Mahjong. Free soft drinks are also provided here, and if you need some fresh air, there is a windy balcony where you get to hangout or play cards with friends. Optionally, guests can request for a rod and bait if they wish to go fishing.

Although the Kukup fishing village is just a small village where humble villagers live their lives on floating houses, the village has its own fun and attractions. We have listed down some of our favourites:

  (i)     Play and Win on Nintendo Wii

wii

If you’re into games, the village offers Nintendo Wii that can be rented at only SGD30 per stay. Guests are advised to pre-book it prior to their visit.

(ii)           Move your muscles at Kukup Futsal Centre

Who says you can’t play sports while you’re on a vacation? At Kukup, it is not impossible! The Kukup futsal centre that was recently open is equipped with quality DecoFlex rubber carpet for the convenience of its customers. This place is definitely great for family bonding!

(iii)             Explore the Kukup National Park

Located at the Kukup Island, the Kukup national park is one of the biggest uninhabited mangroves in the world.

Kukup fishing village is all about life in simplicity. If you’re looking for a simple, peaceful yet fun weekend break, this should perhaps be one on your travel list. Explore different private transport option from Singapore to Kukup. Cheers!

Hey travellers! After a long tiring day of city exploration, perhaps it’s time to just sit down and relax. If you are just around the corner, do stop by Bev C, one of our favourite places in Johor Bahru where you can chill out and have your eyes and hands wandering around the one of a kind Café Boutique.

Owned by Beverly, the founder of TGND (The Girl Next Door) boutique + hair salon, this boutique offers its customers with more than just clothes. Guests can also dine in and treat it like a workstation or a place to relax before moving forward to their next activities.

Beverly has eight years of experience in retail. Although she had never received any professional training in fashion design, her interest in the industry has made her successful still. Her passion for fashion has led her into the business, and it all started from her childhood, when she spent a lot of time playing with Barbie Dolls, which really helped her develop her sense of style and creativity. She did not do it all by herself but with a good friend named Cally who also shares the same vision –they decided to then create their very own fashion brand, Bev C. The two entrepreneurs hope to share their clothing, lifestyle and passion through the brand.

The two fashion enthusiasts are not only creative in clothing design but also brand tagline, which is “Own your style or stay naked”. What an inspiring slogan, especially for individuals who are always looking for the right styles to suit their personalities. We love Bev C for its uniquely cut and edgy designs. Prices of clothes are also affordable. Bev C’s apparels are made of decent fabrics and they are in fact comfortable to wear. You’ll also be mesmerised by its well-decorated boutique –beautiful yet gloomy, but also unique. If you are into Japanese fashion, you’ll definitely love Bev C’s collection! It’s modern, simple and sophisticated.

Instead of blindly following the so called “fashion trend”, why not shape your own fashion sense and lifestyle? Travelling is even more memorable when you bring back a new and fashionable you!

Overcoming the Increase in Toll Rates across the Johor-Singapore Causeway

$

The consequences are expected to affect food prices too as Singapore is importing 5-10% of its essential foods from Malaysia. In this case of tit for tat, it is the people across both side of causeway who will eventually suffer as they bear the brunt of the spiralling cost.

Dining Hot Spots in Johor Bahru, Malaysia

After a long journey of travelling from wherever you may be coming from, a bottle of cold water is the answer to quenching your thirst while a plate of delicious dish helps re-energise your body. The state of Johor is another great dining hot spot, other than some of Malaysia’s popular dining places such as Malacca, Penang, and Kuala Lumpur. There are some dining hot spots in Johor that I will highlight on this blog. I am a foodie myself. Hence, providing you with dining tips is something that I enjoy. Check out some of the best dining hot spots which I have listed below.

Village Briyani Café (Indian cuisines)

village-briyani-pic1

Qing Palace Chinese Restaurant (Szechuan Cuisines)

qing-palace-pic2

Passion Food Café and Bakery (French cuisines)

passion-food-pic-3

Nijyumaru Japanese Restaurant (Japanese cuisines)

nijyumaru-japanese-restaurant-pic4

Arabian Nights (Middle-eastern cuisines)

arabian-nights-pic5

长堤天天塞 越堤族网上诉苦

宋慧纯2015年12月15日|

Traffic Jam(新明日报今日新闻)塞车变常态?

40 Hari Kari Kambing

If you are a big fan of mutton, then this is a must-go. The food is heaven, i repeat, HEAVEN. Even better, they also come in dulang! Well, when was the last time you eat in dulang? One set of dulang consists of generous amount okari-kambingf kari kambing, rice, vegetables (cucumber, tomatoes and cabbage) and comes with 1 jug of drink. It’s gonna cost you only RM48. Sharing is caring, right? For big eater, up to 3 people can share it on one go. For light eater, 4 to 5 people are gonna make the cut. The more the merrier! Strategically located alongside the North-South PLUS highway, you can clearly see the restaurant on your left when you drive pass Ayer Hitam north bound.

It’s not a flashy place but the sign is big enough to attract your eyes. You should get your eyes checked if you ever miss the sign. It’s that big! To reach the location, take the Ayer Hitam exit number 244 and turn left at the junction after the toll. When you reach the town, turn right and go straight ahead towards Yong Peng. Just be forewarned, start your engine in the morning because this place is open as early as 7.30 am and closed at 3pm.

You should spare your tummy empty before going here because the portion they give will explode your stomach. Well, not literally. It is one of the best restaurant in Johor Bahru. For the record, I have been to this place at least 10 times because that is how much finger I have. There are western and eastern cuisine on the menu. Oh yes, and cakes too! Apart from their succulent choices of meal, their cakes awill astound your taste bud!

The must eat list includes red velvet cake, chocolate caramel cake, peach smoothie, marinara spaghetti, mee hoon goreng tomyam, and….actually it just never stops. I must warn you though, most of the meal are not for one especially if you are a light eater. Another reason why I love this restaurant is the ambience. You might always think about Senibong when you wanted to eat seafood. But hey, there is another place you can go! Tepian Tebrau should be on your top list when it comes to seafood galore with great prices. There are many tenants which you can choose from. I would recommend gerai Faridah but you can choose other food stall your tummy might leads to. Most of the stalls are open from 5pm onwards, so it’s a great place for dinner.

The prices are slightly cheaper than Senibong and the variation of foods are a lot more! Some stalls accept reservation and payment upfront. You may also pick your own selectionof seafood to be cooked. Lastly, they provide free parking spot, yey!

Top 8 Food Recommendation in Batu Pahat

Batu Pahat has no lack of good food, and offers a variety of specialties from different ethnicity. Here are a few, out of many options, that are highly recommended by local taste buddies:

Asam Pedas Fish

asam-pedas-fishIn recent years, Batu Pahat has also made a name for itself in Asam Pedas Fish recipe, with its balance ratio of spiciness and sourness. Most of the asam fish in Batu Pahat are made from ikan merah for its sweetness and more fibrous meat compared to other fish.

Asam Pedas Mak Limah is one of the highest rated and judging from the freshness and its aromatic asam pedas, it totally deserves the fame.

Asam Pedas Mak Limah

Address : No. 3, Jalan Dato’ Tay Kim Peow, 83000 Batu Pahat.

Nasi Beriani

nasi-berianiBeriani or Baryani, no food list will be complete without this Malay mixed rice dish made with spices, meat and rice cooked with ghee oil. Batu Pahat is considered one of the most famous place to hunt for this aromatic rich-flavoured dish.

Nasi Bariani Power

Address : 18 Jalan Tukas 2, Taman Soga, 83000 Batu Pahat

Pork Porridge (non-Halal)

pork-porridgePork porridge is one of the favourite breakfast amongst Batu Pahat locals. What is better to prep the stomach in the morning than a hot porridge? The porridge is being cooked (starting from plain porridge) with fresh raw ingredients and flavoured for each order.

Porridge stall in Kang Foo foodcourt (no signboard)

Address : 50 Jalan Abu Bakar, 83000 Batu Pahat.

Lontong

lontongLontong is a Johor-specialty food and it’s not exaggerating to say you won’t find a good one in other parts of Malaysia. Do not underestimate the seemingly watery sauce, as it is packed with flavour with hints of peanuts, coconut milk and vegetable sweetness. Poured over the nasi impit and garnished with any toppings they can offer, this is another wholesome meal that Batu Pahat offers.

Lontong Roundabout is one of the famous lontong stalls and just as the name suggested, it is located next to Batu Pahat roundabout, interchange between Jalan Kluang and Jalan Rahmat. However, the good lontong comes with a downside which is the attitude from the owner.

If you are not up for the attitude challenge, there are many other Lontong stalls to choose from. One of them is Gerai Mak Ani in Taman Maju.

Stall 1: Lontong Roundabout

Address : Roundabout Jln Rahmat-Air Hitam-Senggarang, 83000 Batu Pahat.

Stall 2: Gerai Mak Ani

Address : Stall no. M8, Medan Selera Taman Maju, Jalan Maju, Taman Maju, 83000 Batu Pahat.

Wanton Mee (non-Halal)

wanton-noodlesThis is no stranger to anyone who comes to Batu Pahat seeking for food as Ah See Wanton Mee has operated for decades. The wanton is not the main attraction. Rather, it is their handmade light colored al-dente noodles drenched with special sesame sauce that made the name.

Chop See Kee (Ah See Wanton Noodle)

Address : 2, Jalan Jenang Dalam, Kampung Pegawai, 83000 Batu Pahat.

 Nasi Lemak Cik Chom

nasi-lemak-cik-chomUp for some irresistable 8 footers? Try nasi lemak sotong King Kong from Cik Chom. It is a little out of town in Sri Gading area but the gigantic squid that almost hide all the santan flavoured rice from view will make up for the travelling. It is fresh, crispy and delectable to every bite. The chef even took the pain to make two batches of rice – the green rice with double coconut milk and pandan, and the white rice with normal dose of coconut milk.

Nasi Lemak Cik Chom

Address : No. 16, Jalan Kencana 1a/1, 83300 Sri Gading, Batu Pahat.

Ledang Duck Noodle

ledang-duck-noodleOver the years, Ledang Duck Noodle still retains all the qualities, be it the al-dente noodles, the flavours and the service attitude.

Restoran Ledang

Address : Jalan Abu Bakar (opposite Kang Foo Foodcourt), 83000 Batu Pahat.

Akbar Cendol

akbar-cendolThis is a dessert that won’t burn a hole in your pocket and one of the best thing to savour in hot afternoon in Batu Pahat. Cendol Akbar is the pioneer of cendol in Batu Pahat, having operated for decades nearby the main wet market. The ice were shaved finely and the mixture of palm sugar and coconut milk is rich but never overly-sweet.
